Dr. Paul Buller, you’re it!

Dr. Paul Buller, a professor in the School of Business, came to Gonzaga in 1989. Celebrating his 23rd year of teaching, Dr. Buller is committed to making a difference by encouraging students to think deeply and become aware their knowledge, skills, values and other gifts – and their role in the world.
From the very beginning, Paul was attracted to the sense of community at Gonzaga. “Gonzaga has a compelling sense of mission; students, faculty, staff and administrators care about this place and about each other,” Paul explains. “My colleagues are committed to excellence in teaching, and you don’t find at some institutions. We are truly a Gonzaga family here.”

Gonzaga is based on a Jesuit philosophy of educating the whole person and the emphasis on using one’s gifts to help make the world a better place. The University, along with Dr. Buller, encourages all members of its community to become engaged in an ongoing conversation about how the Jesuit, Catholic, humanistic mission applies in today’s world. “This challenges us to think critically about how the University can maintain its identity,” Paul says, “given the current issues facing higher education and our broader society.”

Dr. Buller’s wife and three children have all benefited from a Gonzaga education, and the family acknowledges the importance of giving back so others can similarly gain. “Students are central to the Gonzaga mission,” Dr. Buller reinforces, “and support of students is vital if we are to sustain our mission.”

That’s why Dr. Paul Buller gives back to Gonzaga, and now Paul tags you.

“Zag, you’re it!”
