“Zag, You’re It!” Community Campaign encourages 100% participation from faculty and staff members

Last Monday, October 7th, marked the launch of the three-week Community Campaign, “Zag, You’re It!”, a movement encouraging Gonzaga staff and faculty to join one another in an effort to support either Gonzaga University or Spokane County United Way, or both, as a way of giving back to our community.

With a goal of 100 percent staff and faculty participation, Gonzaga employees are encouraged to make a gift to the area of their choice via payroll deduction, online cash (gonzaga.edu/giveonline or unitedwayspokane.org) or sending a check to Gonzaga’s Gift Accounting Office, c/o Debra Fischetti, AD98.

Giving back to Gonzaga University helps to fund student scholarships and financial aid needs, allowing the 95 percent of students receiving financial aid to continue their studies at Gonzaga University. Immediate impact funds include: Fund for Gonzaga, Gonzaga Scholars Program (GSP) and Work Award Fund.

Donating to United Way is another way to pass on your Zag Tag. United Way is a local chapter of a larger organization, dedicated to helping those in the Spokane community through guidance in education, health, and income.

The campaign has started off on a strong note, with a multitude of faculty and staff stepping up and giving back to their local community, but we’re not done yet. With only a week and a half left, make sure you spread your generosity and help strengthen your University and Spokane community, by making a gift today.
