Gonzaga’s award-winning Advent calendar is back!

During the Christmas season, we are reminded that it is a time to reflect on and give thanks for our blessings. It is also a time to gather in celebration with family and friends, to share in treasured traditions. It is in this spirit that Gonzaga University invites you and your family to experience what is quickly becoming another Christmas tradition, the one-of-a-kind online Advent calendar.

Gonzaga’s award-winning publication is back and better than ever, featuring an artist’s rendering of a wintery campus scene serving as the backdrop, begins December 1. This year’s calendar is chock-full of new-and-improved content, including interactive games, festive music, videos, a Christmas blessing and so much more.

If you’re in the mood for some holiday tunes, for example, be sure to check out the calendar. From the Big Bing Theory to the University Choir to Telefund students singing a special version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, the countdown is teeming with Christmas melodies.

Perhaps you prefer to spend the Christmas season in the kitchen, preparing succulent meals or baking sweet treats for your loved ones. Then whip up a batch of sugar cookies, always a holiday favorite, and participate in the decorating contest. Just be sure to snap a picture of your sugary masterpieces before devouring them.

The Advent calendar will also test how well you know Gonzaga with a fun quiz. Do you know, for example, who founded the University? What year did Gonzaga first open its doors? What years did Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” top the music charts? Put your knowledge to the test and find out if you truly know Gonzaga.

That is just a smattering of the Christmas fun waiting for you and your family inside Gonzaga’s Advent calendar. Be sure to visit gonzaga.edu/Christmas to enjoy the full countdown.
