Letter From Gonzaga’s President
Parents and Families of Gonzaga:
While events are still unfolding in Japan, it is clear that the devastation from yesterday’s earthquakes and tsunami will touch millions of lives. During this Lenten season especially, we are called upon to recognize and support in any way possible those suffering through this natural disaster. I trust you will join me in prayer for everyone impacted by this tragedy – as well as those who have lost their lives.
Jeff Hart and the Student Life team have been working throughout the night, in conjunction with Athletics and CCASL, to assure the safety of our students in coastal areas of North America that were initially anticipating a tsunami. Everyone is safe and accounted for this morning, including students, faculty and staff on the GAMP Trek in San Francisco, Mission: Possible efforts in Neah Bay and San Francisco, and the Crew event in San Diego.
I ask that we all be very mindful of the international students from Japan attending Gonzaga and take extra care in supporting and assisting them. The International Student Program office is leading efforts to help accommodate their special needs during this stressful time.
Over the next few weeks we can expect to see increasing needs and opportunities to support our neighbors in Japan. As always, I know the Gonzaga community will respond with love and generosity.
Thank you,
Thayne McCulloh, D.Phil

This is a bright idea i would also buy. Helping and charity should be the number one things to be thought of in this lenten season as they contribute highly on that “sacrament of indulgence”. I wonder how it is gonna be done as Gonzaga community. Otherwise thank you for the blog.
