Artist rendition of completed Sharp Avenue Gonzaga GatewaySummer is ending and move in is just a few weeks away. The thought of it can cause mixed emotions for both new and returning students as well as their families. Because of construction, the biggest question and challenge may be “How do we get on campus?!” Campus Security and Public Safety have been working hard to make navigating the traffic confusion as easy as possible. CSPS and CMS Security will be in the area for traffic control and to assist with directions and questions if needed. Roadways, alleys and pedestrian walkways are open for travel however; they can be narrow at some junctures. Please do not block these areas in order to move your student in. Over 1,300 vehicles are expected to arrive for move in and we want everyone to do so safely.

For those moving into Madonna, Catherine Monica and Coughlin and coming from the north, go south on Hamilton to Spokane Falls Blvd and take a right to go west at the light. Go down one block to Cincinnati and take a right going north. Go north two blocks and on your left will be a very large parking lot that you can park in for the entire day. For those coming from the south, take the Hamilton exit and go north. Merge to the far left turning lane and go left at the light. Travel west one block to Cincinnati and take a right travelling north. Go north two blocks and on your left will be very large parking lot that you can park in for the entire day. This parking lot is shared with Gonzaga Athletics and the law school so please be mindful of the space you use if traveling in a large or oversized vehicle/trailer. We encourage everyone to utilize this space as the inner parts of campus near residence halls are limited and parking for the day is not allowed because of fire lane restrictions.

For those moving into Twohy, Roncalli, Alliance, Lincoln, Goller, Dillon, Welch and Desmet: from the north or south from Hamilton, turn west onto Boone. On your left will be the BARC parking structure that offers four floors providing parking for over 600 cars.  You may park here for the entire day.

For those moving into Kennedy, Dooley and Burch from the south on Ruby, turn right on Boone and head east. On your left will be Kennedy. Continue straight to reach Burch and Dooley. The roadway you will follow is brick and considered a pedestrian walkway. Be alert for pedestrians and vehicles as the road is narrow and allows only one vehicle to pass through at a time at the concrete pillars.

The Gonzaga University Campus Security and Public Safety (CSPS) Department is located at 503 E. Sharp, in the Huetter Mansion.  This is where you will also find Parking services. This team provides 24/7 coverage for our campus community every day of the year.

There should be no problem accessing Crimont Hall at the corner of Standard and Sinto. Due to the Sharp Avenue construction you will take E Sinto Avenue (one block north of Sharp) to get to N Standard Street.

I hope this answers your question. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
