Building Community in Diverse Environments
Unity Multicultural Education Center Presents:
Summer Building Relationships In Diverse Gonzaga Environments Program (BRIDGE)
Summer BRIDGE is a pre-orientation program implemented by the Unity Multicultural Education Center. It is designed to assist students of multicultural backgrounds in making a smooth and less stressful transition to Gonzaga University and the Spokane community. The program complements the New Student Orientation by providing incoming students with a lifetime of memories and friendships.
BRIDGE introduces students to Gonzaga faculty and staff as well as to other students of diverse backgrounds. Students will be building their own bridge into the Gonzaga community and establishing strong and lasting relationships with people who will provide them with priceless information about campus services, programs, and student life.
BRIDGE also allows students to build a foundation and a network within the Gonzaga community that will help them through their first year of college. The mentorship and learning process does not end at the conclusion of the BRIDGE program, but will continue on throughout the students’ Gonzaga experience.
Space is limited to thirty students this year. Early registration starts Friday, July 1st and the cost for incoming first-year students to register is $50. There is also a Parent Program, which allows parents/guardians to ease into the transition of sending their young adults off to college. The program consists of attending information sessions about the Gonzaga Community, interacting with staff and faculty and bonding with other parents to name a few. The cost of the Parent Program is $35 per person and includes the Welcome BBQ and BRIDGE Luncheon.
