HELPFUL HEALTH CENTER TIDBITS
- There are over 300 Freshman students who have not turned in their immunization records. We will be sending out “warning” emails to them within the next two weeks. Please make sure your student has turned these in to the Health Center. If they have not, there may be a “hold” placed on their registration for Spring Semester, and we really do not want to do this. We need proof of 2 MMR’s (rubeola vaccine).
- Flu shots are available to students for $5 at the Health Center. Please encourage your student to get one. The flu season will soon be upon us!
- Encourage your student to stay well by:
- Getting a flu shot.
- Washing their hands often with soap and warm water.
- Covering their nose and mouth with a tissue when sneezing or coughing and then washing their hands.
- Washing their hands after blowing their nose.
- Cough or sneeze into the sleeve/elbow if no tissue is available.
- Regularly clean surfaces that are touched often.
- Do not share food, drink, utensils, towels or anything else that may be contaminated with germs.
- Avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth.
- Avoid close contact with sick people.
- Stay home if sick with cough, fever, or the flu.
- Encourage your sick student to come to their Student Health Center if they are ill.
