More “Did You Know…?” Information from the Health Center

First, we’ll start with our usual closing information—REMEMBER, that the Health Center is here to our students with a wide range of services.  So whether they are not feeling well or need a physical for sports or study abroad, we can help!  Our Appointment Line is 509-313-4066 (and if your son or daughter get our messaging, PLEASE, PLEASE encourage them to leave a message and we will return their call as soon as we are available.)  We are located at 704 E. Sharp (Corner of Sharp and Dakota)…walk-ins are welcome, too!

Second, all students have been asked to provide record of certain “Mandatory Immunizations”, specifically, record of the Mumps, Measles, Rubella vaccine or MMR as it is commonly known.  Many have asked “Why” this is so important and questioned whether or not there are any outbreaks in the United States.  Check out this link from About.com and you will see that in 2011 at least 223 cases were reported from all around the country!  http://pediatrics.about.com/od/measles/a/measles-outbreaks.htm
