Zags Travel through Turkey’s Cultures & Empires
Gonzaga parents, I want to call your attention to a chance for unparalleled learning and immersion into the Gonzaga culture – Turkey, Land and Sea: A Journey through the Ages. This life-changing experience is offered to Gonzaga alumni, faculty, staff and parents. You will discover the historical, Biblical, and cultural heritage of Turkey, while enjoying the comfort and luxury of traveling with Eon Tours, operated by Aydin Aygun (M.A. Relig. Studies ’05), our Turkish Zag.
Small and intimate, the tour will feature Lecturing Scholar Regina Freuen, Instructor of Art at Gonzaga, as well as Fr. Jim Dallen as spiritual leader. This travel opportunity will broaden your horizons physically, intellectually and emotionally.
Travel dates are June 11, with a return on June 26. You and your fellow travelers will start in Istanbul and travel in western and central Turkey, with four days and three nights aboard a Turkish gulet in the Mediterranean.
You will find the itinerary here, and testimonials here.
IMPORTANT: The trip must attract at least 15 travelers by March 1 in order to fill.
Please contact Robin Guevara, Turkey traveler 2011, 2013, at guevara@gonzaga.edu to indicate your interest. Or to book a reservation, please contact Sofie Van Der Zanden at sofie@eontours.com.
“My wish for you: If you are thinking about once-in-a-lifetime travel this summer, do yourself a favor. Go to Turkey. Every day while you are there, many times each day, you will find yourself profoundly grateful, mesmerized by all that you observe, learn and enjoy.” – Marny Lombard, Turkey traveler 2011, editor of Gonzaga Magazine.
