Senior Class – Parents/Families Commencement Information
The 2014 Senior Commencement festivities will be held on Mother’s Day Weekend, May 9, 10, and 11, 2014 (Friday through Sunday). Tickets are not required for attendance and seniors may invite as many guests as they wish. Friday events include the Social Justice Missioning Ceremony, the ROTC Commissioning Ceremony, and the Dessert Social. Saturday events include: the Presidential Reception and Toast to Our Seniors followed by the Baccalaureate Mass (all are welcome). Sunday’s Commencement Ceremony begins with the Academic Procession at 9:35 a.m. in the Spokane Arena and, at the conclusion of the Ceremony, everyone is invited back to campus for a Champagne Social. The Nursing Pinning Ceremony will be held on Sunday afternoon.
In late August, you will be receiving a letter from Academic Vice President Killen and me with more detailed information about Commencement. Now is an ideal time for you to make your hotel and travel reservations – our School of Law and Graduate programs will be having their Commencement Ceremonies on campus the same weekend so don’t delay in making your reservations.
Visit www.gonzaga.edu/commencement to get all of the latest information. Choose Senior Commencement after you finish reading the main page and be sure to check out the FAQ section. As one of the advisors to the seniors, I will be e-mailing them throughout the year about lots of Commencement “things” and I frequently suggest that they forward a copy to you to keep you in the loop.
Please feel free to contact me at 509-313-5571 or prusch@gu.gonzaga.edu if you have any questions. All of us at Gonzaga are looking forward to celebrating with you and your senior this coming May.
