Resolution season is here and many people, including students, choose this time to embark on health and fitness goals. Zag Dining by Sodexo is committed to creating healthy environments to support your student’s well-being. Central to this effort is providing healthy, nutritious foods. We’ve listened to our customers. We’ve researched marketplace trends. Our executive chefs and registered dietitians worked together to create an exciting collection of recipes.

The result is Mindful by Sodexo – an approach that focuses on transparency of ingredients, delicious food, and satisfying portions so that making Mindful choices becomes second nature. Students can find Mindful dishes every day in the Marketplace at the BARC by looking for the Mindful symbol.

Convenient Mindful items are also available across campus at our retail locations in the Simply To Go refrigerator cases. Each menu item in the Mindful program is prepared to meet sound nutritional criteria and provide satisfying flavor. To be labeled Mindful, dishes must meet specific thresholds for total calories, fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium and fiber. A fantastic resource is https://mindful.sodexo.com, where students, and you, can learn more about our Mindful program, as well as find recipes, health, and nutrition information that you can use at home.

Features of Mindful:

  • Sound nutritional philosophy and guidelines
    • Based on latest science and leading health organization recommendations
    • Chef & management training and certification through the Culinary Institute of America (CIA)
    • Teachable moments with education that ties to the food
    • Focus on taste and satisfaction – what we like to call healthy indulgence

Changing eating habits is a challenging goal with far-reaching rewards for health and well-being. We hope that Mindful can help support New Year’s resolutions and make healthy eating a habit for life!
