The Class of 2015 Pays It Forward
By: Holly Jones, University Advancement
Each year, Gonzaga’s senior class raises funds for a class gift – something to leave a legacy behind as they transition from student to alumni life. Supporting three main pillars at GU (scholarships, faculty support and the student experience), the Senior Fund is intended to celebrate and commemorate the time students spend here. This year, the class of 2015 has made a benevolent decision: The class of 2015 wants to sponsor a Zag.
This year’s senior class would like to be remembered as a class who believes in the students and mission of Gonzaga University so strongly that they want to ensure the same wonderful experiences they had as Gonzaga students are available to others. $2,500 sponsors one student through a one-time scholarship award. The senior class aims to fully sponsor one Zag and will also be asking senior parents to match those gifts to sponsor even more students.
A letter was sent home to parents during the first weekend in April, introducing the goal and purpose of the Senior Fund, which is to encourage the act of giving back among Gonzaga graduates. Those wishing to contribute to the Senior Fund can do so using Gonzaga’s convenient and secure online giving site at gonzaga.edu/giveonline.
Congratulations to the Gonzaga University graduating class of 2015 and the families who have supported them along the way. We are so proud of your accomplishments and humbled by your desire
