Our Blog

Dear Families and Parents of Gonzaga University Students,

Do you have a Gonzaga student who is grappling with questions like:

  • What should I choose as my academic major?
  • What can I do career-wise with this major?
  • How can I best use my knowledge, skills, abilities and talents to serve and lead?

We have a program that may help your student answer some of these questions!

Career & Professional Development, University Ministry and the Center for Community Action and Service Learning (CCASL) are offering the annual Career Discernment Retreat for Gonzaga University students on the weekend of November 11th and 12th.  We have received outstanding feedback and reviews from students who have participated in the past.  Students will be provided with the opportunity to:

  • experience Ignatian Discernment,
  • learn about personality type using the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory,
  • reflect and discuss career decision-making in small groups,
  • understand how service and justice can be integrated into career choice, and
  • hear stories from Gonzaga alums who will share their perspectives on choosing career directions and finding meaningful life work.

This program is open to all students and will be held at the Bozarth Mansion & Retreat Center.  As an added bonus, students will participate in an etiquette dinner.

Please consider encouraging your Gonzaga student to participate in this year’s Career Discernment Retreat.  Registration is limited to 40 participants.  Students wishing to register should:

1)      Go to https://commerce.cashnet.com/ISH

2)      Select “Career Discernment Retreat” and

3)      Complete the online registration form.

All good things,
