A Place at the Table: The New COG
By: Cheryl Kaine, Zag Dining
Excitement is building across campus as Zags anxiously await the opening of the John J. Hemmingson Center. One of the most anticipated features, the new two-story COG community dining room featuring six restaurant-style platforms and a hydroponic greenhouse, promises to provide endless culinary possibilities. Our chefs have been testing recipes and refining menus all year in preparation for the move to the new COG this fall.
The best part about the new COG is that everyone at Gonzaga is welcome to join us for delicious, innovative meals! This fall’s juniors and seniors have watched the construction from the beginning, and now they have the opportunity to take part in the next generation of community-building at Gonzaga, even if they have moved off campus. The best way for students to get a seat at the table is to purchase a Community Meal Plan specially designed for anyone who has fulfilled the University’s residency requirement. Conveniently loaded on the student ZagCard, these meal plans can save time, money, and sanity. And for students living off campus, these smaller meal plans mean less time commuting and looking for parking when they choose to stay on campus for lunch.
Like always, your student has the flexibility of choosing a meal plan size that reflects their unique eating habits. Because plans include Dining Dollars, students can access the new Starbucks, Einstein Bros. Bagels, the Bulldog Restaurant, and the Marketplace mini-grocery, too, as well as cafes across campus.
The Hemmingson Center will house many student resources and activities and bring the campus together in new and exciting ways, including at the dinner table. Community Meal Plans for the fall are available now and can be purchased anytime online at https://ZagDining.Sodexomyway.com/shop.
