Allow Me to Introduce Myself…
By: Luke Lavin, University Ministry
My name is Luke Lavin and I am the newest face in University Ministry. As a former Zag (08’) I am overjoyed at the chance to work with your son or daughter these upcoming years! To give a bit of background on myself, post-Gonzaga I spent two years abroad with Jesuit Volunteers in the Federated States of Micronesia. My wife (a fellow Zag I met while we were both Resident Assistants in St. Catherine/St. Monica) and I then spent three years in Berkeley while I pursued my graduate degree at the Jesuit School of Theology.
With UMin I will be coordinating the Cardoner Retreat as well as Men’s Ministry. Cardoner is an upper division retreat that uses the Ignatian lens to engage the retreatant’s relationship with God. Our Men’s Ministry involves programming for men of all ages to develop their faith and build community. If either strike a chord with your student, my door in Hemmingson 104 is always open! I look forward to serving them and you in any capacity and am blessed to be part of such a wonderful community.
