Hello Zag Families!

Career and Professional Development (CPD) is committed to helping students clarify and attain their career and educational goals.  One important aspect of our work is helping students be “job ready” as we help them develop and refine their professional skills.

This past year CPD staff members came up with an idea designed to engage a variety of stakeholders who also want to support the success of our students.  The idea we developed turned into the Career Care Package.  Much like the care packages that are sent to students by their parents throughout the year, the Career Care Package includes items to help students “put their best foot forward” as new professionals.  Whether they are interviewing for internships, full-time jobs, or admissions into graduate or professional schools, the Career Care Package will give them a little boost of encouragement and support while enhancing their professional images.

Career & Professional Development has assembled the first 100 Career Care Packages to launch this pilot program.  Family members can order Career Care Packages for a cost of $55.  To place your order please visit the Career Care Package order website at: http://commerce.cashnet.com/GUCareer.  Please select the Career Care Package option.  Once your order has been received, your Zag student will be asked to pick up their Career Care Package in Career & Professional Development on the first floor of Crosby.  Career Care Packages will not be mailed to students.

As we launch this initiative, several generous benefactors have agreed to help cover costs for students or families in need.  If your Zag demonstrates financial need and you would like assistance to pay for a Career Care Package, please call me at 509-313-4086 to see if funding is available.

All good things,

Ray Angle, Assistant Vice President
