Final’s Care Packages provide great snacks for students, support for service club

Finals are undoubtedly the most stressful time of year for most students.

For decades, the Circle K club at Gonzaga University has provided a way for parents to support their students during this difficult time. Parents can order a final’s care package stuffed with delicious treats that is hand delivered to their door. These low-cost care packages also include a personalized note from the sender.

The care packages are delivered the week before finals during the fall and spring semesters. The packages include approximately 20 different food and drink items. Items include granola bars, instant oatmeal, tea, popcorn, fruit snacks and much more. Parents also have the option of including a completely personalized message included in the delivery of the care package.

This service not only provides a great opportunity for parents to support their students, but also provides the funding for the Circle K service club at Gonzaga.

All proceeds from the care packages support Circle K, a student run club dedicated to service, community and leadership. Circle K is the college equivalent of the high school Key Club, both of which are part of the larger Kiwanis International organization. The club is highly active on campus, contributing thousands of service hours to the local community and providing excellent leadership opportunities for students. “The activities and responsibilities that I encountered [in Circle K] were a highlight of my time at Gonzaga and helped me to prepare for life after college” said Evann Rouse, class of 2010.

Care packages cost $16.00 prior to October 1 and $20.00 after. To order, go to www.gonzaga.edu/finalsbaskets. Questions can be directed to Chris Wheatley, staff advisor to Circle K, at wheatley@gonzaga.edu or (509) 313-5865.
