Attention Senior Parents – Commencement Information

The 2013 Senior Commencement festivities will be held on Mother’s Day Weekend – May 10, 11 and 12, 2013 (Friday through Sunday). Tickets are not required for attendance and seniors may invite as many guests as they wish. Friday events begin in the late afternoon with the Social Justice Missioning Ceremony and the ROTC Commissioning Ceremony and continue in the evening with the Dessert Social.  Saturday events begin mid-morning with the President’s Reception and Toast to the Seniors and the Baccalaureate Mass (all faith traditions are welcome) will take place in the afternoon. Sunday’s Commencement ceremony will start with the academic procession at 9:35 a.m. in the Spokane Arena. The doors to the Arena will open at 8:00 a.m. and we anticipate that the ceremony will end close to 1:00 p.m. A social will be held after the Commencement ceremony back on campus in the Field House. There will be a Nursing Pinning Ceremony on Sunday afternoon. Gonzaga’s Law and Graduate Commencement ceremonies will also be held during this weekend; hotels in Spokane have already begun to fill up for the Commencement weekend so I really encourage you to make your hotel and travel reservations as soon as possible.

Visit www.gonzaga.edu/commencement to get all the latest Commencement information. Choose Senior Commencement after you finish reading the main page and be sure to check out the FAQ section. As one of the advisors to the seniors, I will be e-mailing them throughout the year about lots of Commencement “things” and I frequently suggest that they forward a copy of my e-mails to you to keep you in the loop. Please feel free to contact me at 509-313-5571 or prusch@gu.gonzaga.edu if you have any questions. We look forward to celebrating with you and your senior this coming May.
