Our Blog

…let us tell you more about us!

We offer a wide range of services such as the treatment of minor illnesses and injuries as well as women’s health, men’s health, immunizations, wellness information, nutrition information, lab testing, minor surgical procedures, wart treatments, just to name a few. A very popular service is that we are able to do Sports Physicals and Study Abroad Physicals.

Some fees may be incurred and they are the responsibility of the student. There is a minimal fee to see a health care provider.  Anytime a fee is incurred a fee bill is produced that is designed to be submitted to their insurance carrier for reimbursement.

Important information to remember!!

Immunizations:

Measles:  All students born after 1956 are required to provide documentation of two measles (rubeola) inoculations. The measles or rubeola vaccine is also one of the components in the Mumps, Measles, Rubella vaccine.  If this documentation is not provided it may result in registration being held.

Meningococcal vaccine:  The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the American College Health Association (ACHA) recommends that parents and students are aware of the following information about meningitis: (A) students living in residence halls are at a slightly increased risk for bacterial meningitis; (B) meningitis can be devastating; (C) a vaccination can reduce the risk.  Please consult with your health care provider or come in for the vaccine at our Health Center.  The Health Center highly recommends this vaccination.

Influenza (Flu) vaccine:  With the start of the school year we strongly encourage all students to get a Flu shot.  In an effort to make this both affordable and convenient, we start offering the Flu shot beginning with Orientation Weekend—the cost for our students—only $5!!

Times and locations for the Flu Shot clinics:

  • Friday, August 30, Crosby Student Center, Green Room (UPSTAIRS!), 9a.m. until noon
  • Saturday, August 31, Crosby Student Center Green Room, 9a.m. until noon
  • Monday, September 2, Crosby Student Center, Main Floor, 11a.m. until 1p.m.
  • Tuesday, September 3, Crosby Student Center, Main Floor, 11a.m. until 1p.m.

Students are also welcome to come by the Health Center for their Flu Shot, too.  We will continue to offer flu shots to students at $5 until supplies run out (usually sometime in November).
