How to Make Schedule Changes

As parents of incoming students, Academic Advising welcomes you to Gonzaga with arms wide open and with a sincere desire to make your student’s first semester at college as smooth as possible. We help to ease this transition for students by taking the burden of registration off their shoulders for the first semester. We register every incoming freshman based on the information we receive from the student’s online Academic Interest Survey, and we do our best to make them the best schedules ever!
We do understand, however, that students may change their minds about what they wish to study. While students may now view their schedules online via Zagweb, some changes on our end are still being made, and final schedules will not be official until August 1, 2014. With this in mind, Academic Advising will not accept requests to change schedules until the week of August 4-8 and during the scheduled timeframes after that.
During this first week of August, we invite students to contact Academic Advising to make their schedule change requests. Each student will be treated equally with regard to their course scheduling requests, regardless of how or when they contact us. Please note that we will not make changes to schedules based on preference of time or professor. While we welcome family members into these advising discussions, please know we will only make changes to a student’s schedule at the student’s request. It’s your student we need to hear from, whether via a phone call, email, or in-person advising session. In-person advising sessions are by appointment only. An online scheduling software system is used for these appointments. To schedule, follow these directions:

- First-time users need to create an account. Choose “Click here to register” and follow the prompts.
Schedule Change Timeline
Pre-Orientation: August 1 – 8
Students may call us with schedule change requests at 509-313-4072 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, and an advisor will take their calls or return a message within 24 hours. No appointment necessary.
Via email: Students may send requests to advise@gonzaga.edu. Students should include their name, ID number, a phone number, and what specifically they are requesting.
New Student Orientation: August 28 – September 1
Appointments and emailed requests will be taken during the following days/times of New Student Orientation:
- Thursday, August 28th: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Friday, August 29th, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Saturday, August 30th, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Monday, September 1st, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Add/Drop Period: September 2 – 12
Courses begin on September 2nd. There is an add/drop period during which students may make final adjustments to their schedules. Students should schedule an appointment with Academic Advising for these changes.
- Last day to add a Course – Wednesday, September 10th, 5:00 pm
Last day to drop a Course – Friday, September 12th, 5:00 pm
