It may not be the first conversation you have when your student arrives home for the holidays, but meal plan choice is worth spending a few minutes chatting about before returning to campus. This is the first year Bulldog Bucks are included as part of the mandatory meal plans. Fall semester students took full advantage of spending both on and off campus. Take a couple of minutes to review how the fall meal plan worked out to determine if changing to a different plan for spring would be a better fit.

To get an idea of how the fall plan worked out, students can login to Zagweb to view their meal plan and Bulldog Bucks balances, as well as their transaction history.

Questions to consider:

  • How often did your student eat in one of the two dining halls, per week?
  • Did your student have unused meal swipes at the end of the week or semester?
  • Did your student run out of swipes by the end of the week or semester?
  • Did your student run out of Bulldog Bucks before the end of the semester?

Know the facts:

  • Bulldog Bucks roll over from semester to semester and year to year
  • Meal swipes do not roll over
  • Per week meal count resets before breakfast on Friday
  • The meal plan selected for fall semester will default for spring semester, unless it is changed
  • Meal plans can be changed in Zagweb: the deadline to make a change is 5:00pm on Friday, January 20
  • Bulldog Bucks included with meal plans are intended to supplement the plan and should last the entire semester
  • To help budget Bulldog Bucks, there is a tool available at www.gonzaga.edu/zagcard, select Meal Plan tab
  • Additional Bulldog Bucks can be added anytime by visiting www.gonzaga.edu/bulldogbucks

 

Below is the list of meal plan options available to students required to purchase a plan:

Platinum All Access: provides unrestricted entrance into the dining halls and 500 Bulldog Bucks $2,725.00

Includes 5 guest meals (swipes) per semester

Includes 4 parent/family meals (swipes) per semester

 

 

Gold 16: provides 16 meals (swipes) in the dining halls per week and 550 Bulldog Bucks $2,700.00

Includes 5 additional guest meals (swipes) per semester

Silver 12: provides 12 meals (swipes) in the dining halls per week and 700 Bulldog Bucks $2,620.00

Includes 5 additional guest meals (swipes) per semester

Blue 225: provides 225 meals (swipes) in the dining halls during the semester and 600 Bulldog Bucks $2,650.00

Allows student to swipe for guest(s); will deduct from available meal balance

White 175: provides 175 meals (swipes) in the dining halls during the semester and 800 Bulldog Bucks $2,620.00

Allows student to swipe for guest(s); will deduct from available meal balance

 

Is your student living on campus (not required to purchase a meal plan) or living off campus?

If you would like your student to have the convenience of a meal plan, there are several options available.

Any enrolled student may purchase one of the mandatory meal plans listed above. Simply make a payment through CASHNet or at the Student Accounts Office in the amount of the cost of one of the five plans listed, and then contact the Student Accounts Office at (509) 313-6812 or studentaccounts@gonzaga.edu to activate the plan. If the cost of the meal plan needs to be included in a payment plan, the student must contact or visit the Student Accounts Office to make arrangements.

Zag Dining also offers Community Meal Plans to students that are not required to purchase a plan. These plans provide a specific number of meals (swipes) into the dining halls and are sold directly by Zag Dining. To purchase a Community Meal Plan visit: www.zagdining.com. These meal plans cannot be added to the student account or included in a payment plan.

Community Loyalty: provides 110 meals (swipes) per semester in the dining halls $850.00

Includes Coffee Friday in Margie’s, Café Lawte, Duff’s and the Marketplace.

Grey 80: provides 80 meals (swipes) per semester in the dining halls $640.00

Includes Coffee Friday in Margie’s, Café Lawte, Duff’s, and the Marketplace.

Blue 50: provides 50 meals per semester in the dining halls $425.00

Includes Coffee Friday in Margie’s, Café Lawte, Duff’s, and the Marketplace.

Red 30: provides 30 meals (swipes) per semester in the dining halls $275.00

Includes Coffee Friday in Margie’s, Café Lawte, Duff’s, and the Marketplace.

 

Community plan swipes never expire, as long as the student is registered. They are good until they’re gone.

Community plans contribute to the Go Green Fund: 1.5% of the cost goes towards a campus sustainability project.
